What an incredible book. A definite classic. I will be reading this one to my kids every Christmas. I loved this unique take on Christmas. The story is from the point of view of the child describing how his mom is an undercover elf for Santa. I definitely was worried at first to see if the book might bring up some tough questions with the kids. But I was amazed at how well everything was. I loved how the kid described how real elves have pointy ears but undercover elves have small points on the inside of their ears. The illustrations are perfect for this story. They look like crayon but have a great imagaintation feel about them. Like a kid is drawing his own story. I think the explanation of how undercover elves help Santa throughout the year is perfect to keep your kids behaving all year long.
