My Dad and the Dragon
by Montserrat Coughlin Kim A cancer dragon snuck inside Cameron's dad and Cameron is going to show you what that is like in daily life. Beautifully illustrated, My Dad and the Dragon shows what life is like when a father is diagnosed with cancer. It is written based on our family's experience when my husband was diagnosed with cancer and we started calling it a cancer dragon with our children. Perfect for children from 4-10 years old, this book will help parents, caregivers and children talk about cancer and how it impacts the whole family. **100% of the profits of the sale of this book will be donated to social-service organizations that help support children with sick parents.** This book was a great way to discuss cancer with my son. We have had family members that have passed away from it but he doesn't really remember them. This is definitely a great idea to share with younger kids if you are experiencing cancer with a close loved one and need a way to help talk about it with your children. We both loved the illustrations. They were so colorful and detailed. I liked how it puts kind of a fantasy feel about cancer being a dragon. I really think that makes it easier to comprehend for a child. Some days the dragon is worse than others. The back of the book has some resources to help you and your family.
