Mia and Nattie: One Great Team!
by Marlene M. Bell Mia hears a soft baa near the bar and finds a newborn lamb named Nattie who is alone and hungry. Nattie’s mom left her behind so she doesn’t have any milk. Mia takes Nattie into the laundry room to warm her up and notices that Nattie is really small, her mouth is crooked, and one horn was straight like a unicorn’s horn. But Mia thought Nattie was perfect. Eventually Grandma said Nattie has to live outside. Nattie grew into a bigger ewe but she was never big enough to live with the rest of the flock. A neighbor wanted to buy Nattie. Mia had to come up with a way to save her. Luckily they discover that Nattie is a terrific nanny to the newborns and she helps out grandma’s favorite sheep recover from being sick. Mia got to keep Nattie and they helped raise the orphan sheep together. The quality of this book is outstanding. I love the fact that this is based on a true story. There's a nice story at the back of the book with a picture of Natalie. This is a very heartwarming story showing a great bond between a girl and a sheep. I always love seeing books where someone helps out someone or some animal that is different. Even though Natalie is different she can show lots of love and serve a useful purpose. My son liked the way Nattie looked. He said she looked goofy. Purchase on Amazon See more inside the book on Instagram
