When young Sophia is introduced to her new pony, Piper, things don’t go as smoothly as planned. Could it be that Sophia isn’t the only one who is nervous about new things?

Sophia and her best friend Savanna are at the barn when the trainer, Miss Ellen, presents Sophia with her new pony, Piper. But when Piper pins her ears back and snorts, Sophia knows that the pony isn’t happy and is scared. The two need to get to know each other to build trust. Does Sophia have what it takes to rein in her pony and gain Piper’s trust?

This was such a fun book. I always wanted a horse when I was little. I like that I was able to relate the trusting relationship between Sophia and Piper to getting a new pet with my children. It takes time to build a relationship. And that is exactly what Sophia learns in this book. She just kept at it and eventually Piper trusted her enough to let her ride her and make those jumps. My kids loved when Piper took off running and Sophia and Savanna were chasing her. Then the dog, Eli, slipped under the fence and chased after too. We chuckled at how Miss Ellen only had to bring the bucket of grain over for Piper to stop running and come over to eat. This was just a great book and if your kids are even the slightest into equestrian, then you have to get the book.
