Grooty Fledermaus made a promise to Katie and a promise from a special kitten such as Grooty, can't be broken. So on this night, they are off on their first magical nighttime adventure! They end up in a place where Katie discovers that while there, she has all of her previous health and energy. While she and Grooty are having fun exploring, they startle a very mean TROLL who just wants to be left alone and might even have Grooty for his supper if he gets his own way!

I really enjoyed this 2nd book of Grooty. I think it's even better than the first. I love seeing Katie imagining herself as she used to be, before she was sick, with her long hair. I love the Troll character, the way he looks, how lives under the bridge with his pot cooking over the fire. I love how unique it was to have his tears turn into diamonds. The story is just such a cute one. The Troll is about to eat Grooty and Katie shows the Troll what true friendship is. Having friends is completely new to him and he doesn't know what to do. I haven’t even read all of the Grooty books yet but I am loving where this is going. I love the idea of this little girl who has a major illness is going on adventures in her dreams. It just brings a warm feeling that I think kids will enjoy. The rhyming is just amazing in this one. Just feels so effortless.
