The Growing Bed - by Rebecca Linney, Charlie Lavoy (Illustrations)
What do roller coasters, monkey bars and water slides all have in common? How about firemen, soccer coaches and teachers? Join Andy in The Growing Bed to learn why sometimes eating all your vegetables just isn't quite enough to get what all little boys and girls desire.
This is a very cute book and a great choice for anyone with a child who doesn't like to stay in their own bed at night. Andy wants to be able to do fun things like ride the roller coaster, go on the monkey bars, the water slide, and sit in a booster seat instead of a car seat. The problem is, he is not tall enough. His mom explains to him that most nights Andy ends up sneaking into mom and dad's bed and everyone doesn’t get a good night's sleep. She goes on to explain to Andy that his bed is a magic growing bed. Each night with a goodnight kiss, his growing bed gets activated and as he sleeps in his own bed, his body grows. She uses other examples to help him feel comfortable about sleeping in his own bed. This book makes a perfect bedtime story and the illustrations are awesome. My son really enjoyed this book and his favorite page was at the end when you could see Andy growing in his bed.
