Suzie-Que and Pepperanne are best friends. They love to chat over tea at the end of each day and discuss the day's adventures. One day, while chatting over tea, they discover an uninvited guest at their table. This rude intruder has the most unusual behavior that leads the two friends on an adventure unlike any ordinary day. What will Suzie-Que and Pepperanne have to chat about at the end of this day?

This is one of the most beautifully written rhyming stories I’ve ever read. It’s so well done and the rhymes just flow effortlessly. I can picture this being in a store on a shelf by itself. It just feels like such a classic. The story is about Suzie-Que and her cat Pepperanne. They come upon a new house guest, a mouse. At first the mouse steals a spoon from Suzie-Que but then she starts to notice her hair getting shorter after each night. The mouse is slowly eating it, lol. Eventually they try to scare the mouse out of the house. But when he runs into the kitchen chair, they realize he has impaired vision. Now they see that his being a nuisance is not his fault. The story has a nice cute ending. Just seeing the close up of the mouse’s face wearing his new glasses made my son and I laugh. It looks so cute. The illustrations are great. They are definitely unique and not something I typically see with children’s books.
