Mariah Gets Bullied
by Amber Richardson What happens when the top students in the class, Mariah and Autumn, become the target of the school bullies, Bianca and Skylar? This realistic, No-Holding-Back, bully story takes you on their journey. It's bad enough when both girls are bullied together, but then Autumn transfers and leaves Mariah all alone. How will Mariah handle it? This is probably the best example of a bullying book I have come across yet. It is very realistic and nothing is held back. A lot of bullying books I see try to tone down how mean the bullies are and make it seem like everything works out fine when you just talk to them. But honestly, sometimes that is not how the real world works with bullying. The story is about a girl named Mariah who is being bullied by 2 girls at school. They keep being physical with her and eventually get suspended. That doesn’t stop them from bullying Mariah again. Eventually, Mariah’s mom transfers her to another school. But that doesn’t stop the bullies. The next time they meet, Mariah stands up for herself and punches one of the bullies in the face and kicks the other. Because Mariah stood up to the bullies and beat them up, the bullies stopped bullying everyone in the school and no one was afraid of them anymore. I know that violence should always be a last resort when talking to children about bullying but it was nice to see such a bold book about bullying. I would probably recommend this book for a little bit older children for when you can have an honest discussion with them about bullying. Purchase on Amazon See more inside the book on Instagram
