My son and I really enjoyed this book. I found myself liking it more and more each time I read something new the boy would come up with. The book’s description wasn’t kidding. These excuses sound very familiar. My son will make random excuses to why he can or cannot do something just to try and get his way. We usually have a clever response for him every time. This book is very entertaining and I love the feel it has with the book divided into excuses and clever responses. The parents' reading will be rooting for the mom’s clever responses and the kids will be rooting for the boy and his silly excuses. In this story you will hear why the boy can’t get up, go to school, eat his veggies, take a bath, or go to bed. He has some good excuses of his own.  He will explain that he is a rock, a lion, a monkey, a bear, a robot, and an owl. Being these things stops him from doing what the mom expects him to do. But this mom has clever responses to everything and is no match for the boy.
