Evie Elephant and the Bedtime Boycott - by Stacy Shaneyfelt
Are you caught in a vicious cycle of nap-time and bedtime battles and protests with your young kiddos at home or daycare? Do you struggle when teaching or guiding little ones about the value of bedtime rituals and sleep’s merits? If you’re searching for a heartfelt, engaging, proactive, artistic, and poetic book to enrich literacy, speech, art, socio-emotional skills, and animal knowledge, then this safari of sanity is for you! Evie Elephant and The Bedtime Boycott presents unforgettable, catchy, and age appropriate lessons to reiterate life lessons like “Although bedtime boycotts can be tempting to try, listen closely to your parents: don’t let sleep pass you by! Sleeping provides fuel for your body and mind; it keeps your moods perky, so you won’t fall behind!” My son really liked this book and thought it was funny watching the little elephant resist going to sleep. I remember having battle after battle trying to get my son to sleep when he was a little younger. This book is a great way to show how a little one can act poorly at bedtime and how it affects them the following day. This book will teach your little ones the importance of a good night's sleep. The illustrations are very well done and the book is written in rhyme which makes it easier for my son to follow along. There is even a great section at the end of this book titled Post Reading Discussions, Questions, Activities and Boredom Busters. I think this makes a great book for the classroom as there are several discussion topics for learning in the back of the book. See more inside the book on Instagram Purchase on Amazon
