First-off, this book does what it says. It helped me fall asleep while reading it to my daughter. The book has a repetitive rhythm and instructions to follow as you breathe in and breath out. Then it will tell you to focus on relaxing your feet and toes. More breathing in and out slowly. Then relax your legs, hips and belly. More breathing. Now focus on relaxing your shoulders, arms, hands and fingers. More breathing and eventually you get to closing your eyes and falling asleep. I can attest to this way of helping fall asleep. When I was in high school we did something similar in a yoga gym class where we meditated and focused on breathing and thinking about relaxing each body part… Then the teacher woke me up! This book was beautifully made. The illustrations look like award winning imagery. Everything about this book looked great. If you are looking for a great bedtime book to put a little one down I would highly recommend this one. Make sure you do your part as the reader to read slowly and softly to help the mood for falling asleep.
