Charlotte’s Shadow
By Anne-Marie DePape & Christine Quaglia Illustrated by Kenzie Edge What an awesome book! I love receiving books like this. It’s important to read books like this to your children to help them understand topics like this when they see someone like Charlotte in real life. I loved how the dog’s name is Shadow because he shadows Charlotte wherever they go. It’s fun being able to read the story from the point of view of the dog. Shadow looks up to Charlotte and calls her a real-life hero. Charlotte puts a vest on Shadow and grants him the powers of the universe. After breakfast and a favorite cartoon, they head out for an adventure. Charlotte's mom needs a letter dropped off, so Charlotte puts the envelope in Shadows mouth and they head out. They reach a busy street and Shadow helps Charlotte across the street when the light turns green. They reach the mailbox and Shadow slides the letter into the box. Now, they visit Nana and she needs help watering the flowers. Charlotte yells, “fetch” and Shadow gets the watering can for her. After helping Nana they head to the library to return a book. As they walk inside, a friend, Nathan asks his mom, “how come she gets to bring her dog to the library?” That’s when Shadow learns about his power and how he helps Charlotte. Read the book to find out how the story ends. Available for purchase on Amazon - July 26th Instagram: tails_of_charlotte_and_shadow Facebook: www.facebook.com/tailsofcharlotteshadow
