This captivating story follows Ms Thompson, as she tells her students to prepare for a fancy-dress day tomorrow at school. The children are so excited although some are unsure of what to wear. Little Amira rushes to school the following morning and forgets her princess dress, leaving it at home. Even though her kind teacher and friends want to help her by making her a crown and wand from shiny gold paper, it is not the same as wearing her princess dress. This was a really fun book. Especially for kids like mine that love to dress up. They loved seeing Amira try on the different costumes and of course after we read the book we had to go into our bins and pick out some costumes. My daughter can almost fully fit into our Lion costume but the head is slightly too big. And my son likes wearing his Mario costume. I think this book was a great, simple and realistic story. The illustrations are bright and fun which kept my kids attention the whole time. I think it's a great way to get your kids to try some arts and crafts as well to make parts of their own costume.
