A Chance for Christmas
by Kathy Wilson
This is the story about Chance, a teddy bear left all alone in an abandoned farmhouse who is longing for a forever home. Chance gets some luck when the door becomes open and he leaves to find a new home. He stops to take a nap in a basket in a wagon. He wakes up to find that the wagon is now moving. He thinks, great! A chance for adventure. Once the wagon stops, he spies another hitch-hiking bear climbing out of a suitcase named Ginger. They decide to travel together to find their new forever home. Along the way they run into some animals that help them on their journey; a deer, a skunk, a fox, and a squirrel. They finally arrive at the village. After seeing a nativity scene, they come upon a teddy bear store. They slip inside and place themselves among the other bears in hopes Santa will come. Read the story to find out the ending.
This is the first book in the Chance books. It was nice being able to see the first time Chance and Ginger met. If you haven’t seen any of the other Chance books, I recommend taking a look. You can find all of Kathy’s books here https://kidsbooksbykathy.com/. I really enjoy seeing all of these books with the photographs of bears and things Kathy can find around her town. It gives a real life feel to the characters. The more books of hers I read the more I get attached to them. I feel like I have been watching a TV show about these bears. This would make a great gift for Christmas time.
